Grants Policy Committee's Stakeholder Meetings
GAO Audit Focuses on Streamlining Grants Management
In July 2006, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a Study (GAO-06-566) that sought to identify areas of the grants process in which further action is needed in order to simplify procedures and satisfy concerns expressed by grantees. This report, intended for congressional committees, is very helpful to Grants.gov in providing direction for its continuous improvement efforts. The Study interviewed grantees, reviewed comments grantees submitted about changes needed, and obtained views from grantee associations and users of Grants.gov, as well as performing grantee site visits and obtaining the views of OMB. The resulting Study, Grantee’s Concerns with Efforts to Streamline and Simplify Processes, can be viewed here .
