Additional Information on Eligibility:

Description: The purpose of this REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (RFEI) is to solicit proposals from organizations interested in partnering in the establishments of a center for science and resilience in New York City’s Jamaica Bay. This high-level research center, most likely located on public parklands within the Bay area, would focus initially on coordinating disparate scientific efforts now being undertaken there by public, private and non-private entities. The goal of the Center would be to support the development of strategies for future restoration and protection of the Bay’s ecology and enhancement of the resilience of the urban-ecological system of the Bay and its surrounding neighborhoods. PLEASE NOTE: Questions/Inquiries MUST be submitted ONLY via the Website listed in the posting.

The Request for Expression of Interest for the proposed Science Center was originally released on 7/17. Interested partied were given several opportunities to ask questions. To date, two rounds of Q&A were offered: the first round ended 8/10/12 and the second round ended 9/10/12. Both were subsequently published for public viewing. The final round of Q&A ended October 10, 2012, and in our commitment to transparency, we are posting the answers here for public viewing. The answers provide additional information for interested respondents with regard to how this effort may be connected to other projects underway, the participants in previous site visits, types of information being considered in response to the RFEI, release date of the RFP, and whether responses should include budget proposals.
