Among the PEPFAR priorities in Ethiopia supported by this Funding Opportunity Announcement is the strengthening of national capacity to collect and use HIV-related surveillance systems, manage national HIV/AIDS programs by expanding HIV/STD/TB surveillance programs, and strengthening laboratory support for surveillance, diagnosis, treatment, disease-monitoring, and HIV-screening for blood safety. EHNRI is the governmental agency with the mandate to support these public health activities, and is the only public health agency in Ethiopia with the mandate and authority to do so.
