The objective is to fulfill the research and monitoring needs identified in the Service’s Canadidate Conservation Agreement with Assurances (CCAA) for the fisher on the Stirling Management Area, Sierra Pacific Industries. One of the obectives of the CCAA was to provide an avenue to translocate fishers (a candidate species for listing under ESA) to an area of their range where they no longer existed. In addition, this project is designed to study fishers responses to timber harvest related activities within an industrial, sustained-yield managed forest.
