Description

The Community Health Applied Research Network (CHARN) is being established in response to the funding opportunities made available under the Recovery Act for Comparative Effectiveness Research (CER) Data Infrastructure. The CHARN will be comprised of four Research Nodes and a Central Data Management Coordinating Center (CDMCC). Research Nodes are health center-led consortia of safety net providers in partnership with one or more academic institutions and will be funded through four separate cooperative agreements. This funding announcement is for the Central Data Management Coordinating Center (CDMCC) to support the Network. This cooperative agreement will fund a Center whose mission will be to coordinate activities across research nodes in the following areas: administrative support for inter-node coordinating functions (such as the management of the steering committee); central data management; technical assistance in study design, data infrastructure, and analytic methods. Support for the Network will include the provision of appropriate and capable leadership and expertise in biostatistics, developmental study design, data management, data analysis, clinical data review, and project management, including, but not limited to, staff and site training and quality assurance procedures.
